Columbian soldiers engage FARC rebels The Next Cimmerian Historic Combat Re-Enactment Will Be: OP: DETERMINED FORGE - modern OP DATE: Sat 18Jul2009 OP SCENARIO: August 30, 1996 Las Delicias, Colombia - The FARC attacked the Las Delicias military base in the Putumayo Departmento. The Colombian military lost about 54 dead, 15 wounded and 60 captured. A surprise attack had been carried out at night after extensive intelligence gathering, and 15 hours of fighting resulted in the complete destruction of one of the military's rural bases. The FARC's leftist guerilla fighters have considerable capabilities in infantry warfare, covert training by Cuban and Chinese Special Forces elements has been suggested. US Special Forces were employed in the GOC response as "advisors" and "trainers" leading covert helo attacks and LRRP type missions against the FARC. See who the Cimmerians are at the Cimmerian Unit Roster . Cimmerian MIlSim ops stress military and historical realism as well as combat skills, all participants are required to understand the Cimmerian Rules of Engagement, Equipment Regulations and Uniform Standards. Operations are never cancelled due to bad weather, because real soldiers fight in all kinds of weather conditions and so do we. This adds to the MILSIM mission of Cimmerian operations to learn about and experience the role of an elite warrior.

Cimmerian operations are always conducted on the weekend of the third Saturday of each month. OPs are easy to access in  Northern California and Nevada. At least two times a year, a base camp is set up deep in the wilderness and operations are conducted throughout the weekend.
