AAR: Wow! OP BEAR TRAP was indeed
an opportunity to ADAPT and OVERCOME. Everyone did such a fine job, it was a joy
to behold. The feast was robust and the GP small saved us from the
elements.
Scenario: This scenario showed us
first hand how the high desert mountians of Afghanistan can multiply
the dangers of MilOps.

OpCOM: A hearty "Well Done!" to
Jason for his duty as OPCOM.
AO: Very strenuous terrain made for
a most challenging battle. The Soviets faced an up hill slog no matter what
direction they were fighting.
CASUALTIES: 1 sprained ankle, 1 sprained Knee. 1 blown main seal
on Deuce +1/2(Deuce remais NON-OP. Ike may need our help with recovering the
vehicle from Auburn), 1 CUCV in the creek bed (recovered w/ HMMWV winch), 2
tents destroyed (Wind storm)

This OP trested your mettle and you are mountianeers! OOFTAH! SSGT Ike Newton was presented with his Cimm Purple Heart,
for injuries sustained during a DT3 recon OP.
SCENARIO - It is
October 1985. The location the Afghan-Soviet War. The operation -
CIA run mission to escalate the fight against Soviet forces in-theatre.
Following the secret Reagan administration decision in March 1985,
reflected in NSD Directive 166, to sharply escalate U.S. covert action in
Afghanistan. Reagan team decided secretly to let loose on the Afghan battlefield
an array of U.S. high technology and military expertise in an effort to hit and
demoralize Soviet commanders and soldiers. CIA Dir Casey saw it as a prime
opportunity to strike at an overextended, potentially vulnerable Soviet
empire.
Missions will focus on:
- Covert insertion of military hardware
- Infiltration and ambush
- Locate and secure objective
- Anti-Infiltration operations
- Evacuation, pursuit, and ambush
Load Out -

- 153rd Special Strike Force, Desert

- Soviet Forces - Soviet, MARPAT Woodland , Woodland,
or OD.
Military uniforms
are required for the whole OP both on and off the field of battle.
We enourage operators to dress the role, so real NATO or SOVIET uniforms
would be a plus, but not required.
