OP Echelon III: CLEAN SWEEP
Backgrounder:
In a joint venture code-named Project Echelon,
the major Western governments are working together to spy on each others
citizens and trade the data with other. But sometimes those cooperative allies
may also be targets. An EU study was undertaken to review allegations that
Echelon was intercepting private and commercial communications, mainly via
satellite, for American industrial espionage purposes. Steps were taken by the
European Union to block the intrusive nature of Echelon.
Under deteriorating global political conditions the
appearance of discord among the western powers is unacceptable to all concerned.
But the conflict exists. Within the European Union a highly secret paramilitary
organization (EUROPA) has been tasked to locate and capture solid evidence of
the Echelon misuse.
In the 2002 satellite mishap, an unknown number
of Echelon Satellite Downlink Units (SDU) crashed in the forests of northern
Alberta, Canada. The Data-cores of
the crashed device (SDU) was thought to contain the evidence Europa was seeking.
The US mobilized its own covert ops group (SHADOW) for “sanitization” of the
crash site.
IN ECHELON I and II various pieces of SDU were recovered by
both SHADOW and EUROPA. The SDU debris was localized but many pieces of the SDU
area scattered over a 2 square mile debris field. Code named ALTA.
EUROPA intel has analyzed the recovered SDUs. No
incriminating data has survived the crash.
A third covert mission to Alberta Canada is required: Echelon III.
EUROPA Ground teams will again be inserted to locate and
recover the remaining SDUs or SDU debris. Using Echelon intercepts intel, Shadow
Force has plans to counter this EUROPA action. Both teams operate with orders to
eliminate any opposition with extreme prejudice. In the ECHELON II mission a
since relieved EUROPA commander ordered his men not to fire on SHADOW operators.
This was a gross dereliction of duty and resulted in a SHADOW recovery. -CIMCOMCINPAC

MISSION Intel has located 1 or 2 live SDU
transponders. Recover these units at all cost. Eliminate any opposition with
extreme prejudice.
1. Insert main body at KILO. Sniper team insert at T-5 and
proceed to hostile territory beyond Phase line GAMMA
immediately.
2. USING RDF unit,
acquire signal and set search pattern. Remain behind phase line
GAMMA. When signal is aquired, contact command and request release for recovery.
20min minimum time elapsed.
3. Locate and Recover SDU device. Enemy survivors from any
contact in this phase are not acceptable.
4. Upon recovery – De-fuse SDU self destruct device.
Contact command and request extraction. You will be provided with LZ
coords.
5. Proceed to extraction point. Establish a perimeter
contact command for helo release to your location and extract on
command.
Respond Point: At LZ until GAMMA is crossed.
100m your LZ side of GAMMA after GAMMA crossed.

Upon recovery – Confirm with command and request
additional transponder freq.
-
When all 4 data cores are recovered. primary mission
is accomplished, contact command and request extraction. You will be provided
with LZ coords.
