LOADOUT

Teamwork and psychology are important tactical cornerstones of successful "Milsim" gaming. In order to take full advantage of these principles, the Cimmerians strive to look as identical to one another as possible. Experience shows that when several players appear in the same uniform, the opposition has trouble distinguishing players and lose track of their opposition. This can often be decisive.

Cimmerian games have two basic ingredients: theatrics and self-discipline. Whenever the Cimmerians gather for an operation, these two points are always held in the fore. Cimmerians certainly do not glorify war. If anything, Cimmerian operations illustrate for all participants why real combat is so difficult and terrifying for the real-life participants. The only factors that Cimmerians are re-creating are the tactical components, the sustained rush of adrenaline, and the intense feel of suspenseful, exciting combat engagement.

At Cimmerian operations that include camping, the required dress is military field fatigues, and use of subdued colors on all equipment and gear.  Civilian clothing is not permitted in camp or on the field at any time, and there are no exceptions to this rule. This rule prohibits ball caps, t-shirts that are not military issue (no logos, type, or colors besides olive drab or tan), tennis shoes and sandals, hiking boots, non-military jackets, non-military sweatshirts and sweatpants, and any other non-military garments.  Cimmerian operations are a re-enactment from the time you arrive at the AO to the time you leave.  Should any participant display civilian clothing at the AO, Cimmerians are obligated to remind the offender of the violation, and the offender must immeidately correct their attire without objecting to the order.  If you prefer to drive to the AO in civilian clothing, please change into military garb at your earliest convenience after you arrive.

The rule prohibiting civilian equipment also applies to tents erected in the camping area.  If you have a non-military tent or a tent that has any non-military colors, you do not need to spend the money on a military tent, but please bring a camo net, military olive drab parachute, or other subdued military covering to drape over your tent.  You can even get fabric paint in olive drabs and tans that will work well on nylon tent material.
