This course is based on the
OP:Hawthorne - AO and will be operated IAW: SOP_NIGHT_OP.
REGISTRATION:
As of now, only four teams
may sign-up to operate on the night course. We are also taking volunteers to
operate as Controller Cadre if you still would like to participate. Team
registration will be taken on a “first come first serve” basis.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
After a briefing to cover the course
objectives and safety, each team will be given a start time for each turn. When a team is on
deck and equipment check is done, you will be escorted out of the firebase to
the Start Point (SP) by a Controller. There will be a designated “blue line” for
this course. This line will extend laterally from the SP to also designate the
team's egress point (finish line). Your team will be greeted by a Controller to
record your course time.
1)
Insertion:
a)
Patrol, undetected, to sector Foxtrot and the
Vietnamese-held dam
2)
Sentry:
a)
Team must eliminate any sentries with 2 pistol shots
i)
If you miss, go full-auto… WARNING: this may alert NVA
patrols to your presense
b)
Silently move to the dam's face
3)
Demo:
a)
Team must place demolition satchel on the dam's face
(glow-stick marker)
b)
Detonate when clear
4)
Recon:
a)
Move the team undetected, to skirt around and through
sector X-Ray
i)
Observe any hostile contacts
encountered
ii)
Do not engage if encountered
iii) It is vital that a correct force assessment is made, to
include numbers
5)
Egress:
a)
Escape and evade your team back to the blue
line, towards the Firebase

SITREP:
a.
Troopers, remember this is a live-fire action
b.
An NVA regiment is suspected to be massing for an
assault in and around Foxtrot and X-Ray
c.
There is a high potential to encounter a VC patrol at
any time, while on the course
i.
Evade and stay on mission
d.
It is vital that your team returns unharmed to
report enemy unit strength
TEAM
EQUIPMENT:
At minimum, each
team member must bring the following:
1)
Pencil & Paper for objectives at
briefing
2)
2 glow sticks: (1 green and 1 red)
3)
1 US ARMY satchel pouch to use in the
field

As issues arise,

1)
SAFETY
a)
This is a live-fire operation, eye-protection MUST be
worn at all times
b)
All daylight AEG minimum engagement rules still apply
(25ft radius)
i)
Pistol shots may be taken within that distance
ii)
Use of rubber knives are only be authorized by the
Senior Controller (S3)
(1) This is to ensure who uses them and to limit physical
contact
c)
Use of glow sticks are required to identify Controllers
(blue), teams (red), and the course boundary (green)
2)
There will need to be a lighted area at the camp-end of
the dam for visual reference
3)
There will also be background lighting from
either camps for course movement
